We are excited and grateful to welcome back Appstate Arborist Chris Erikson and Matt Alff to take us on a walking tour of the East side campus urban Native Trees. They will be walking us through how they use the compost from their composting facility to fertilize the trees, as well as, the history of selections and how they treat their pest problems. This is a follow-up program to the one they did for us last year at their composting facility.
The group will meet first at the Jones House Meeting Room to review some quick club business and then head over to meet Chris and Matt near Howard Street Hall. We will be touring Appstate Campus Urban Trees and learning about sustainable and organic pest control, fertilizing, and maintenance. We look forward to learning about the great variety of Trees on campus and how the university is striving to care for them.
Light Pastries and Coffee will be available at the Jones House Prior to the walking tour on campus.
Since pastries and coffee are being provided, we kindly ask that you RSVP for yourself and any guest you are bringing. RSVP online or via email to blueridgegardenclub@gmail.com
