Purpose of our Garden Club
The object of this club shall be the cultivation of gardens, to stimulate and encourage the conservation of our environment, and to participate in the beautification of our community.
In May 2017 The Garden Club visited Winterberry Iris Garden at Cross Junction, Virginia.
On September 20 we will visit Hope Valley Gardens, a half acre cut flower garden near Greencastle, Pennsylvania, located on the beautiful grounds of Green Grove Gardens the largest local wedding venue in Franklin County Pennsylvania. Located just off I-81 one mile east on Rt 16.
The Blue Ridge Garden Club was founded in 1914 by a group of summer residents who were interested in gardening, and the beautification of the surrounding community.
Today the club has grown, welcoming those women of the area who have a true love of gardening, Meetings are held in homes and other appropriate places. The meetings are informative with knowledgeable speakers, arrangement workshops and horticulture exchange of information. They are held once a month, April through October.
We have a desire to help keep Blue Ridge Summit and Cascade beautiful, and want to pass the word about conserving our environment.
We welcome gardeners from Blue Ridge Summit, Cascade, Waynesboro and surrounding areas.
Our members love gardening, have very diverse interests and gardening experience and enjoy many activities throughout the year. The program includes workshops, lectures and special trips.
